Showcasing our Local Partner Relationships
CCU Food Crew sources food from many local farmers, growers, and distributors. Our partners change throughout the year depending on seasonality and availability.

2025 Green Restaurant Award
For the third year in a row, we’ve been honored with this national award—celebrated for earning the highest number of Green Points among all Green Restaurants® across the country. 4 Star Certified Green Restaurant® Chauncey's Choice at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina earned 128.58 Green Points™ in the Reusables & Disposables category. Chauncey's Choice serves all to-go orders in reusables, supplies reusable dishes in-house, uses 100% reusables for staff meals, and more.
Earth Day Contest Winner
In April 2024, CCU Food Crew won this award for best stats across all places that use Ozzi Containers.
Green Restaurant Certified
Hicks, Chauncey’s and UP are all 4-star Certified Green Restaurants. They have all achieved at least 300 Green Points™.

Babylon MicroFarms
Hicks and Chauncey’s Choice utilize hydroponics, the process of growing plants without soil, to grow an array of greens and herbs for us to use in salads and other meals at our residential dining locations and catering operations.
Food Donations
CCU Food Crew partners with The Cino Pantry on campus to donate extra Einstein Bros Bagels at the end of the day along with local shelters to donate food. We also host Fresh Food Markets at the end of each semester for the campus community to reduce food waste.
Green Restaurant Association

Coffee Ground Composting
CCU Food Crew Composts the coffee grounds from Port City Java, Einstein Bros Bagels, and Starbucks to help divert as much as we can away from the landfill.
